About the event

Text: Leon Gropp

Composer | Original music: Leon Gropp

Winner of Best Music-Driven Production at the US Woordfees in 2018.

N.P. van Wyk Louw once wrote that it is the artist’s task to absorb the blind impulse and longing of their people, to give form in their own heart to what is still vague or merely intellectual, and then to express it simply in beauty.

Leon Gropp gives musical expression to his poetry and writing in a magical way, with masterful piano accompaniment by jazz virtuoso Marcel Dednam.

Venue: Dr Miriam Makeba Concert Hall, Unisa

Komponis | Oorspronklike musiek: Leon Gropp

Die US Woordfees-wenner vir beste musiekgedrewe produksie in 2018.
